EPL: Manchester United out for revenge at Tottenham
Premier League leaders Manchester United will be out for revenge as they look to deny Tottenham a rare double when they travel to White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Sir Alex Ferguson's men, currently seven points clear at the top of the table, suffered a surprise 3-2 league defeat to Spurs at Old Trafford in September.
They will be keen to avoid a repeat of that loss when they make the trip to the capital this weekend, and will be feeling confident having won their last four on the bounce, including a 2-1 victory over fierce rivals Liverpool last weekend.
Andre Villas-Boas' Tottenham are also in strong form as the Portuguese boss gradually continues to get sceptical supporters onside after succeeding Harry Redknapp in the summer, with the North Londoners unbeaten in seven in all competitions.
However, they suffered a blip at former manager Redknapp's relegation battlers QPR last weekend when they were frustrated to goalless draw to end a three-game winning streak.
Despite dropping points at rock-bottom Rangers, Spurs remain firmly in contention for a UEFA Champions League place, sitting fourth and hot on the trail of third-placed Chelsea, who are two points ahead.
United sit 15 points above Spurs ahead of Sunday's clash and seven clear of nearest rivals Manchester City, but know their neighbours have the chance to slash that gap to four when they host Fulham the day before.
Ferguson's men will be eager to keep their advantage in place as they look to build on a strong recent record against Tottenham, disrupted only by Spurs' win earlier this season.
That result ended a run of 22 Premier League games without a win for the North Londoners against United, while the Red Devils have won eight and lost none of their last 11 league matches at White Hart Lane.
